The holdings of the London Metropolitan Archives are too vast to detail in full, but suffice it to say that the archives hold material of every kind from the counties of London and Middlesex, plus those parts of Surrey and Kent which make up the modern day capital city. Its collections of parish registers alone make it the foremost repository of such material in London, far in excess of any other archival body.

In the great majority of cases if your requirement is material relating to an individual who was born, went to school, worked, married, raised children or died in the county of Middlesex (excluding the City of Westminster), then the L.M.A. will house the pertinent records!
